Maidstone Packet Loss - 05/09/2013 07:28 to 07:34

This morning between 07:28 and 07:34 you may have noticed 2 - 36% packet loss on our Maidstone network due to a denial of service attack which was able to saturate 2 of our upstream links. The problem was detected by our monitoring systems at 07:29 and an engineer immediatley started working to mitigate the attack which was completed by 07:34. Some users may not have noticed any problems during this period due to the way our network is segregated.

Please note we are currently in the process of planning increased upstream capacity to help prevent further attacks from causing disruption and to segregate our network further to isolate IP's when under attack.
