Network Upgrades (At Risk Only)

As part of our 2013 network hardware refresh program we will be performing some physical upgrades within several of our off-site PoPs. The first of these upgrades will be performed during the maintenance window below. The work is not service affecting as there are multiple other routes in and out of the network however due to the nature of the work and reduced redundany services should be considered at risk during the maintenance window.

Start Time: 21:00 on Saturday 04/05/13
Finish Time: 06:00 on Sunday 05/05/13

Scope Of Work
During this period our engineers will be replacing two of our Cisco chassis at one of our core locations. This is in order to facilitate additional customer connections, new services and increased capacity. Due to the large scale nature of the work, we will be required to effectively shut down the PoP in question while the physical works are completed (de-racking and re-racking of equipment, relocation of fibre trays etc.).

In order to facilitate this without disruption, all layer-3 services will be re-routed away from the site at the start of the maintenance window. Upon completion of the work the layer-3 traffic will be reactivated via the PoP. This work should be completed by 02:00 on 05/05/13, however we have allowed additional time to deal with any issues as part of the regression plan.

At-Risk-Only Services
All layer-3 services will see some increased latency to certain destinations and some route-changes, but should suffer no disruption as several other transit paths will remain online  with resilience still available and no single point of failure.

Regression Plan
Analyse any issues for up to 2 hours then revert to previous hardware if required, before close of window.

There will be no further notifications regarding this maintenance unless any changes to the schedule or any service-affecting issues are encountered.

We apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused by these essential works. If you have any issues after the maintenance period has ended then please contact us immediately; or if you have any questions please do contact us on 0845 868 5142 or support@vooservers.com.

Best Regards,
VooServers Support.
