Inbound DDoS Attack - 24/02/2012 - 12:10 - 12:14 GMT

You may have noticed that today (24/02/2012) between 12:10 and 12:14GMT about 70% packet loss which was caused by a large inbound denial of service attack aimed at the data centre. The network engineers were quickly able to identify the target and null route it to prevent it from causing any further disruption which restored services back to normal after 4 minutes. We have raised concerns with the data centre about the increasing number of attacks and requested details on what is being done to combat them and we will report any possible changes in due course.
