Packet Loss - 17:50 to 18:10GMT

Between 17:50 and 18:10GMT this evening we noticed some packet loss on our core network at the Kent Science Park data centre. We have since had a service report from our network engineers which details a failing fibre-optic circuit so some traffic was still flowing over it rather than using the redundant routes. This optic was disabled at 18:10GMT restoring connectivity and the optic has now been replaced to restore full network redundancy. From our monitoring and graphing we have been able to identify around 30% of our traffic was affected so not all users will have noticed an issue.
