Packet Loss - 24/06/2013 17:55 to 18:03

You may have noticed packet loss of up to 90% to all services on our network between 17:55 and 18:03 this evening. This was caused by a large denial of service attack aimed at a number of IP addresses on our network which was able to saturate all of our routers and upstream feeds despite being on segregated parts of the network. The attack was quickly mitigated by our network engineers and services were restored to normal within 8 minutes. We are now investigating how to better isolate attacks such as this in the future and we will be making changes as soon as possible. Any changes made will be non service affecting and as such further updates will not be made regarding them to avoid disclosing information to any potential attackers.
